Kristýna Rybová studied Demography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Charles University (Bc. and Mgr.), in 2018 she defended there also her doctoral thesis on the topic of the influence of demographic development on waste management in the municipalities of the Czech Republic (Ph.D.). Since the academic year 2015/2016, she has been an assistant professor at the Department of geography at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. In the years 2009-2010, she completed a study stay at the Humboldt University in Berlin, in 2012 a research internship at the INFA Institute in Ahlen, and at the turn of 2020 and 2021 a research stay at the University of Giessen.
In her professional work, she first focused on waste management and its aspects related to the demographic characteristics of the population. She is gradually shifting her professional interest to other impacts of demographic development at the local and regional level as well as to the area of urban and sustainable mobility. She also deals with quantitative analyses of various types of data.
