Tomáš Matějček studied master’s and Ph.D. study in the field of physical geography and geoecology (with a focus on biogeography) and also teaching geography at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. His dissertation had on the topic The invasive neophytes’ occurrence in the riverbank vegetation. In his research and teaching work, he mainly focuses on environmental and biogeographical topics and the possibilities of their implementation in geographic education. He participated in several research projects, currently he mainly deals with application projects focused on the application of geographical and environmental topics in education. He is the author or co-author of several scripts and textbooks and a number of journal papers. The main research topics include the spread of invasive neophytes, the practical implementation of geographical and environmental education in schools, or the inter-subject links of geography.
